I am going out the door on my way to a vacation in Mexico.
Before turning over the newsletter to Tony, I just would like to say a few words about 2 books Tony recommended last month.
Eat Pray and Love and Bones of the Master are just wonderful reads and I highly recommend them to anyone who enjoys books about spiritual matters as well as journeys to far off lands. The books have the 3 elements I enjoy most … good writing, stories with deep spiritual depth as well as engrossing subject matter.
I cannot recommend the above two book highly enough... they are 2 of the best titles I have read in 2006

We have just received David Hawkins latest book Devotional Nonduality: Discovery of the Presence of God.
“This, the sixth book in a progressive series by the author, finalizes and further clarifies the true nature and core of the condition termed Enlightenment. Although it draws on consciousness research for explanation and contextualization, it is primarily an instruction manual for the serious spiritual devotee and reveals information that is known only by those who have transcended the ego to reach Divine Realization. This is the inner route from the self to the Self, and the descriptions of the progressive states are devoted to the reader’s own Illumination. The subjective states of the mystic have been of great interest but historically never have been clarified to the degree presented in this semi-autobiographical account that also provides the means by which to identify their rare occurrence and thus describe the core characteristics of Spiritual Truth. Devoid of ecclesiastical doctrine or religious belief systems, the pristine essence of all spiritual Truth is revealed in its purity with unprecedented clarity.” —From the back cover.
Exciting news….
Hollywood Director David Lynch’s book on Meditation, Consciousness, and Creativity: Catching the Big Fish will be available by the end of December. I have received a prepublication copy and the book is a must have. Each page deals with a separate theme on creativity and film making... with meditation a central theme without. A number of quotes from the Upanishads are cited throughout the book. Please place your preorder on our website and as soon as the book arrives we will ship it out. David Lynch has been practicing the TM technique for over 30 years..
December being a month devoted to acts of selfless giving. At times I begin to ponder, as I am sure we all do at times, of my own acts.. what are my gifts to society.
I am not a composer of beautiful sonatas nor much of a writer of elegant prose., so I try and treat every aspect of my bookselling job as a creative composition ., whether ordering books, taking mail orders over the phone, helping a customer find the right book or taping cartons for shipping… I visualize the art and grace in all this activity and it becomes my symphonic composition or witty memoir and then my job becomes my painting and a divine act and for this I am thankful always. All our professions no matter how seemingly mundane are our individual gifts to the divine.
Happy Holidays to all
Always focus on the infinite silence within instead of the short lived chaos outside.
